5 things to know before choosing an RO/DI system for window cleaning

The first-time buyer's guide

Pure Water WINDOW-CLEANING SETUP

Does pure water actually work for window cleaning? Will it work with my water supply? How much does it cost to maintain?

Those details are usually what we think about before deciding to spend $2,000 on new equipment. Here are five things worth knowing before you choose.
P.S. Ours don't cost $2,000, and we deliver the same results.

The goal is clean glass, not the most expensive cart.

Your system comes pre-assembled, with the filters and meter included

Buying your first RO/DI system shouldn't leave you wondering which filters you still need to order. The 0 Flow arrives pre-assembled with all its filters and a TDS meter in the box. The pre-filter and RO membrane are already fitted, while the DI resin is sealed separately, ready to load before first use.

So your first step is setting up the system and learning to use it, not sourcing the filtration parts. Follow the setup instructions, then use the included meter to check the water coming out. TDS stands for total dissolved solids. It's the reading you'll watch to keep an eye on your output water as you clean.

You aren't locked into one brand for replacement filters

The price on the cart is only part of what you'll spend over time. Filters and resin are routine consumables, and being forced to buy one brand's replacements leaves you with fewer ways to compare prices.

The 0 Flow uses standard, non-proprietary filters, a standard 4040 RO membrane and a refillable DI tank. You can shop around for compatible replacements instead of being tied to a brand-only cartridge. That's part of making an affordable first system a sensible long-term purchase. When you compare systems, look at the replacement parts as well as the upfront price.

Clean glass starts with the water, not the price tag

Tap water can look perfectly clear and still contain dissolved minerals. When the water dries, those minerals can stay behind as spots on the glass. Pure-water cleaning tackles that problem by removing them before the water reaches your brush.

The 0 Flow runs water through carbon and sediment pre-filtration, reverse osmosis and then deionization, with the system designed to target 0 TDS output. Paired with proper brushing and thorough rinsing, that purified water is the basis of a spot-free finish. Learn the cleaning process and check your output with the meter. The result you're looking for comes from clean water and good technique, not simply paying more for the cart.

It starts with tap water, but your supply matters

You don't need to buy special water to feed the 0 Flow. It connects to a standard garden hose and treats the incoming tap water through its filtration stages. The pressure at that tap affects how much pure water the RO membrane can produce, so a weak supply is worth checking before your first job.

You don't need to memorize a specification sheet. Check your incoming pressure against the operating guidance, then use your TDS meter to compare the water going in with the water coming out. If you're unsure about your supply, ask us before getting started. Understanding your water helps you get more from the equipment you buy.

Your first RO/DI system doesn't need a $2,000 price tag

When you're new to pure water, it's easy to treat a higher price as reassurance that you're buying the right thing. But the useful question is what you're getting for the money: the filtration process, the parts in the box and what it will take to keep the system working.

With the 0 Flow, you get three-stage RO/DI filtration, a pre-assembled system, all filters, an included TDS meter and standard replacement components. Take a look at the current price and package options, and put your first setup together around what you need rather than what you assumed you had to spend.
