5 things to check before buying your first water-fed pole setup

Build your first setup

Your first pure-water window-cleaning setup

You've found a system. You've found a pole. But if both arrived tomorrow, could you actually connect them and clean a window?

A good first setup isn't the one with the most items in the photo. It's the one with the right pieces and a price that makes sense. These five checks help you put it together.

Example Rhodi 0 Flow package with an UP30 pole and nylon brush

Follow the water: tap, filtration system, hose, pole, brush, glass.

Your first system shouldn't start with a second filter order

Buying the cart is only reassuring if you know what's inside it. The Rhodi 0 Flow arrives pre-assembled with all its filters and a TDS meter included. The pre-filter and RO membrane are already fitted, so you aren't starting by sourcing the filtration parts.

The DI resin comes sealed separately and needs loading before first use. Once you've followed the setup instructions, the meter lets you monitor output TDS instead of guessing how the water is doing. Check the included equipment before you compare one setup's price with another.

The small connection you forget can stop the whole setup

A pole and a filtration cart don't tell the whole story. Water still needs a route from the tap to the system, then through the hose to a suitable brush. A missing fitting or the wrong connection can leave the main equipment sitting unused.

Lay out the full list: supply hose, system, delivery hose, pole, brush, adapter and compatible connections. We offer a 0 Flow package you can configure with your choice of pole and brush. Match the selected package's contents against that list and the equipment you already own. Don't assume separately offered add-ons are automatically in the box.

Choose a pole for the windows, not just the biggest number

More length sounds like more capability, but it doesn't tell you how the pole will handle on the work in front of you. Window height, your position and obstacles all affect the reach you need. The longest option isn't automatically the best first purchase.

Start with the properties you expect to clean, then compare pole length, construction, collapsed size and clamp design. The pole brings the brush to the window; the system supplies the purified water. Choose both around the job instead of expecting one specification to solve everything.

The tap is part of your setup, too

It's easy to compare equipment and forget where its water comes from. The 0 Flow takes tap water through a standard garden-hose connection, but the pressure and available supply affect what the RO membrane can produce.

Check your incoming pressure against the operating guidance and consider the hose run and working height. Water conditions and filter condition also matter. Compare the package specifications with your water supply and planned layout, including any extra equipment your setup may need.

A good deal should still make sense when the filters need replacing

The first price you see isn't the last cost you'll have. Filters and DI resin are consumables, and their replacement needs depend on your water, use and maintenance. An impressive bundle photo won't tell you what those replacements cost or whether you have a choice of supplier.

The 0 Flow uses standard replacement filters, a standard 4040 RO membrane and a refillable DI tank. Compare compatible replacements along with the full equipment price. That's how you put the budget toward the same goal, clean glass, without assuming the most expensive setup is the one you need.
